announcing the new season: a post for your followers without writing from scratch

livvi

Announcing next season needs dates, new prices, a photo and a link, so it's easy to put off. How to set up seasonal prices in Livvi and get a ready-made Instagram and Facebook post from the "New season" template.

The last guests have left, the apartment or house is tidied up, and you're already thinking about next summer. The people who follow you on Facebook and Instagram, and those who have already stayed with you, are making plans too. If they don't know the new season is open and how to book directly with you, they'll book wherever they first come across a link.

what a season you didn't announce costs you

First, time. An announcement sounds like a small thing, but it needs dates, prices, something about the property, a photo and a booking link. So it gets put off until spring.

Second, mistakes. You write the prices "like last year", but you've changed your price list in the meantime. The guest sees one thing in the post and another when booking, and you've got an awkward exchange of messages.

Third, money. Every guest who wanted to find you directly but didn't know how may end up somewhere else. Or with another host.

prices first, then the post

So that the announcement doesn't promise the wrong price, start from your price list. In Livvi, for each unit you add seasons: a name (e.g. pre-season, peak season), a price per night, and a start and end date. The season is applied to the price calendar automatically, so dates in that period show the new price per night. You do it once for next year and don't change prices by hand day by day. The steps are in the guide How to add a seasonal price list for an accommodation unit.

how livvi solves this

Once the price list is set, you create the announcement in the marketing part of the app, under Share and promote, with the "New season" template. You choose the property, the unit and the dates you want to announce, and then the format, tone, length, call to action and language. You can switch the price display on or off and choose a photo of the property or your own. Livvi writes a ready-made text with hashtags and a booking link.

If some of your followers don't speak Croatian, the "Translate" button saves you a second post from scratch. When the text sounds too formal, try "Warmer", and when it's too long, "Shorter".

The post goes to your profile. We don't put ourselves between you and the people who follow you. The guest books and pays online, the money goes to your Stripe account, and Livvi takes 2% per booking.

The "New season" template is for opening the season. For the gaps that remain in your calendar once the season starts, there is the "Fill open dates" template, which we wrote about in the article Empty dates in the calendar: a ready-made Instagram and Facebook post in a few clicks.

how to do it

  1. Open Properties, choose a property and click "Show unit".
  2. In the Seasonal prices section, click "Add season", enter the name, price per night and dates, then "Save season". Repeat for each season.
  3. Open Marketing → "Share and promote" and choose the "New season" template.
  4. Choose the property, the unit and the dates you are announcing.
  5. Adjust the format, tone, length, call to action and language. If you like, add a discount code, the price display and an image.
  6. Click "generate" and refine the text with the buttons.
  7. Copy the text, download the image or copy the image link, and post it on your Instagram or Facebook.

The whole process for posts is in the guide How to promote your accommodation on social media.

a code for those who book early

With the announcement you can add a discount code. In Marketing → Discounts you can limit the booking dates and stay dates, and the "Public / for sharing" option lets you put the code in the post.

Example (illustrative, not a real case): the code RANO with a 5% discount, for bookings made by the end of the year, for stays in June, minimum 3 nights.

We described how to set up a code step by step in the article A discount for returning guests without negotiating in messages.
